Original Paintings
Where creativity and vision comes alive.
Modern botanical art that brings colour, beauty and Australian style into your home.
The Heart of the Practice
Painting is where my work truly begins. Before a design ever reaches fabric, a print, or a product, it starts here — as an original painting, made slowly by hand.
My paintings grow from the natural world — flowers, colour, and the shapes of Australian flora — but I paint them expressively rather than literally. Each work is built up in layers, following instinct and feeling rather than a fixed plan, until it settles into something that feels complete. They begin in the botanical, then move somewhere more personal.
How the work develops
I'm drawn to essence rather than accuracy. A flower or a form is a starting point, not a rule — from there the painting takes its own direction through layering, adjustment and response. That's why the work sits somewhere between botanical interpretation and abstraction: familiar enough to feel rooted in nature, but authored and distinctly its own.
Every painting is one-of-a-kind. No two are alike, and none are ever repeated.
Colour
Colour is at the centre of everything I make, but I rarely decide it in advance. Instead of starting with a set palette, I let colour emerge as the painting grows — responding to balance, mood and the feeling of the piece as it develops. It's an intuitive process, and it's what gives the work its sense of cohesion without ever feeling formulaic.
From Paintings to Collections
Over time, individual paintings gather into collections — bodies of work connected by subject, feeling and the way an idea unfolds across several pieces. Each painting stands complete on its own, but together a collection shows how a thread of thinking develops.
Some paintings move into private collections, others stay in the studio archive and continue to inform new work. In time, a number of these originals go on to become art prints and licensed designs — so the essence of a single hand-painted work can live on in new forms.

Ownership & Copyright
Who owns the painting?
When you purchase an original painting, you own that physical artwork — but copyright always remains with me. I retain all rights to reproduce, license, or make prints of any artwork I create, including sold and commissioned works. These rights are never included in a sale and are not available for purchase. This protects the integrity of my work and keeps your original a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.
An original painting may not be reproduced in any way without my written permission.
